Primary ELA Skills offers Support for Parents Homeschooling their children ages 4 through 9 in the development of Reading Comprehension and The Writing Process

Parents have been reading, talking, singing, and answering the myriad of questions their children have asked since the toddler stage.

By the age of four children are cognitively ready to engage in formal Reading Readiness and Writing instruction.

Prior to engaging in formal English Language Arts Skills children communicate their thoughts, needs, and wants verbally.

At this junction in a child’s development, it appears that learning to listen and speak come naturally, however, for a young child this activity is a monumental task.

The day-by-day repetitive information gathering and storing becomes a secure and owned foundation for a child to connect new knowledge. When parents and educators ponder the magnitude of Cognitive Awareness abilities that each child instinctively exercises to communicate, prior to formal English Language Arts education, we realize that the child by age four is intellectually ready to move into the next junction of learning to begin making sense of printed words.

We here at Primary ELA Skills believe that the Cognitive Development a child naturally engages in is nothing short of miraculous!

You are your child’s first and most vital teacher.

What do you offer your child in the next junction for him or her to begin to make sense of the printed words on the pages of the books you have been reading them?

There are no short cuts in the formative years for a child to embark on the process of learning the mechanics of Reading Comprehension and The Writing Process. The rhythm of learning to Read and Write English Language Arts printed words should be launched from the Background Knowledge Storehouse that has accumulated thus far by each child. Our program assists each child to enter holistically into the next junction of learn language by connecting to the Background Knowledge they already accumulated.

Primary ELA Skills acknowledges a child’s Cognitive Development Awareness first and foremost at each level of our English Language Arts education program.

Our program following a Three Component Interlocking Formula that systematically brings children to Proficient Readers and Writers prepared for the next junction of learning to be launched at the intermediate level, usually at age 10.
